Day 1 was spent mostly gather a lot of background information about weather terminology, the features and drawbacks of many weather sites and beginning to explore programming languages that are being used on the project. I spent the morning and start of the afternoon playing around with our weather site and other sites such as weather.com, Weather Underground, accuWeather and Weather Spark. This allowed me to get a feel as to what features are useful and that we could feasibly implement on the site. By far my favorite was the graphing feature on Weather Spark. It was very fluid and easy to use and allowed comparisons of multiple locations. Towards the end of the day I started reading up on JavaScript just to get a sense of what it is.
